This innovative programme is one of a suite designed in close consultation with industry to prepare graduates for the real opportunities and challenges that Information Technology (IT) brings for business. Solid business awareness is developed alongside key interpersonal skills and specialist IT knowledge.

Year 1 units include fundamentals of business accounting, information and communication technologies, information systems development and personal development, whilst Year 2 extends the skills and knowledge gained in Year 1 to ensure that students can maximise the opportunity presented by the third year in industry/commerce.

Students spend the third year on a placement in a commercial / industrial position of responsibility with one of a variety of organisations, ranging from multi-nationals to small and medium enterprises. They will receive a high level of support in securing a suitable placement from the dedicated Placement Office within MMUBS.

Year 4 builds on the placement experience to develop advanced business IT skills and enables academic specialisation in areas such as e-commerce, knowledge management, intranets, databases, human computer interaction and marketing.

(Programmes are constantly reviewed and may therefore be subject to revisions. For updated information please refer to www.mmu.ac.uk/businessschool).
