WSRP Feasibility Report Pt 1
Monica Duke, from UKOLN, and myself are currently compiling a report which looks into the feasibility of converting GroupLog into a portlet. Monica's taking the lead on this and has been looking into some of the technologies involved, the platforms available for developing remote portlets. Currently, Monica is looking at the viability of wrapping CGI calls in WSRP, as this may be a way forward for this.
One of the questions that came out of our initial discussions regarding WSRP and Web Services in general, is how will Web Serices affect network, server and application performance? This is one of the areas that I've been doing some background reading in.
